Subject: The Des Moines Playhouse Presents A Year With Frog and Toad

Tickets are now on sale for the family musical, A Year With Frog and Toad, Mar. 24-Apr. 16, at The Des Moines Playhouse. Tickets are $20-$14, and may be purchased at The Playhouse ticket office, by phone at 515-277-6261, and online at www.dmplayhouse.com.

Arnold Lobel's well-loved characters hop from the page to the stage in Robert and Willie Reale's musical A Year With Frog and Toad. A Year With Frog and Toad remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows two great friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather naive Toad, through four, fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, they proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special.

The show is directed and choreographed by Toby Nicholson, with music direction by Brenton Brown (Chicago). The Playhouse cast features Brandon John Lee (Joseph, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and Jeremy Jorgenson (The Beast, Disney's Beauty and the Beast) as Frog and Toad. Completing the cast are Lesa Dencklau, Annette Duffy, Kyle Frank, Jim Gulbranson, Sarah Kouma and Brett Spahr.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 3-1/2 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
