Paul Child (Accompanist) tickled the ivories for Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at The Playhouse, and played the titular role in Fiddler on the Roof at the Ingersoll Dinner Theatre. Paul is involved in various activities at Plymouth Congregational Church, Des Moines. A senior at Des Moines' Roosevelt High School, he enjoys music theory and composition, and will pursue piano studies in college.

Kim Grimaldi (Maria Callas) is familiar to Des Moines area audiences from her powerhouse lead roles in Wit and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? (StageWest) and Spinning Into Butter (The Playhouse). By day, Kim is a stagehand with IATSE.

Keith Hayes (Stagehand) made his Playhouse debut in 1974 with The Country Girl and Jabberwock. Through the years, he has also worked backstage as assistant stage manager and on props crews. Keith is enjoying his retirement from the U.S. Navy by reading, learning about computers and volunteering at the theatre.

Jeremy S. Jorgenson (Tenor) spent the summer playing the feral half in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Other Playhouse roles include Dan (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Adam/Noah (Children of Eden) and a Wickersham Brother (Seussical the Musical). While a student at Drake University, Des Moines, where he earned his bachelors degree in music education, Jeremy was the featured tenor soloist for Beethoven's "Mass in C." Jeremy is a former music teacher turned annuity service representative for MetLife.

Sarah Kouma (Second Soprano) received her bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where her opera roles included Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites and Sandman in Hansel and Gretel. She has performed Amahl and the Night Visitors with the Wyoming Symphony, and appears on the Mannheim Steamroller "Christmas Extraordinaire" album. She worked for the Les Miserables tour as a costumer/dresser. Sarah is a voice instructor with 42nd Street Studio.

Amy Swanson (First Soprano) is making her Playhouse debut. After graduating from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, this Des Moines native spent a year teaching English in Shanghai China before moving to Chicago to pursue her vocal career. She has performed several professional operatic roles including Adina (The Elixir of Love), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Dorabella (Cosi fan tutte), Musetta (La Boheme) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro). Amy has performed as a soloist in churches, concerts, Broadway revues and charity events in Chicago and Des Moines. By day, she is a consultant for an HR software firm.

John W. Viars (Director/Scenic Designer) is in his 24th season as executive director of The Playhouse, is a former president of the American Association of Community Theater, and is a facilitator for the biennial national community theatre directors conference.

Angela Lampe (Costume Designer) is in her 13th season at The Playhouse, where her costuming credits include Ragtime, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, Honk!, Children of Eden, Chicago and Shear Madness. She has created costumes for Iowa Lottery commercials and Terrace Hill (period costumes for tour guides and Iowa First Lady Christie Vilsack). Angie also serves as a docent at the Des Moines Art Center.

Craig Kaufman (Lighting/Sound Designer) is technical director at the Temple Theatre in downtown Des Moines, where he designed lights and sound for the Temple/Playhouse productions of Forever Plaid and Shear Madness. His most recent Playhouse credits include Chicago and Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Barbara S. Simpson (Stage Manager) has appeared onstage in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Stuart Little (The Playhouse); and The Odd Couple, The Haunting of Hill House, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Ten Little Indians and Picnic at Playmakers & Company (Christiansburg, VA). She has also been active backstage, serving as director, stage manager, props mistress, sound board operator, shift captain and house manager for a variety of productions, oftentimes alongside husband John Thomas. Barbara is owner/leader of A Different Kind of Writers Group, a company that provides writing workshops.
