Subject: The Des Moines Playhouse Presents Of Mice and Men

Tickets are now on sale for the stage adaptation of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, Jan. 27-Feb. 12, at The Des Moines Playhouse. Tickets are $25-23 for adults and $17 for students, and may be purchased at The Playhouse ticket office, by phone at 515-277-6261, and online at www.dmplayhouse.com.

In the stage adaptation of John Steinbeck's classic American novel, Of Mice and Men, two drifters, George and Lennie, have just arrived at a ranch to work for enough money to buy their own place. But "the best laid plans of mice and men" turn into a nightmare when faced with the reality of 1930s America.

The cast, under the direction of John Viars (Master Class) features Joseph Parrish (Sgt. Toomey, Biloxi Blues) as George and newcomer Keith Pederson as Lennie. Rounding out the cast are John Bach (Chicago), Eric Bench (High School Reunion), Al Downey (The Boys Next Door), Jason Frank (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever), Megan Helmers (Chicago), J Michael Kellar (The BFG), Greg Millar (Over the Tavern) and Josh Sampson.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 3-1/2 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
