Benefits • Planned Giving The Des Moines Playhouse: Enriching our community for more than 85 years The nature of theatre is collaborative and audiences across the state of Iowa are at the heart of what we do. The drama may be on the stage, but when the show opens,it takes you to finish the job. Now in our 89th season, we give local talent the chance to shine and give more than 1,000 volunteers every year the chance to learn new skills. We also take the magic of live theatre to communities across the state with the professional talent of our Entertainment to Go program. Whether here in Des Moines, or in towns from Dubuque to Cushing, we gather our neighbors to share exciting new shows like Metamorphoses and Disney's High School Musical as well as time-honored favorites like The Pajama Game. Beyond its work on the stage, The Playhouse is actively educating more than 30,000 young people every year. From programs at local elementary schools and Head Start locations that promote reading readiness and self-esteem, to afterschool workshops and summer camps, to specially-priced student matinees and workshops that build the audience of the future, we have built the largest education program of any community theatre in the country. Your support helps us do that. Our affordable ticket prices cover only 65% of the costs to produce dynamic theatre that touches many lives across the state. Your gift today helps us close the gap between ticket revenues and the cost of our programs and services. Your support sets the stage for season after season of education and delight. Please consider joining the generous and visionary family of donors who support The Playhouse by making a tax-deductible gift to our annual fund. All gifts are listed in season programs and gifts over $100 are acknowledged with a variety of benefits. More importantly, your gift helps us touch lives in the whole community. I have been honored as you and so many others have joined us to create exceptional stage productions, nationally-acclaimed education programs and standard-setting outreach that touches so many in our community. We couldn't do it without you!
