Grade Levels: Enroll your child in the grade level he or she will be entering in Fall 2019. Children are grouped by grade level so we may appropriately serve their developmental needs.

Fancy Nancy, Ooo La La! 

Kindergarten 2019-Grade 1, 9:30-11:30 AM, August 5-9

Bonjour! That’s Nancy’s fancy way of saying hello. Nancy Clancy believes that more is always better when it comes to all things fancy. We’ll act out stories from the Fancy Nancy series of books, learn some fancy vocabulary, and discover our inner costume designer. Remember, anyone can be fancy!

Sing, dance, and act while learning show tunes and moves, then perform a musical showcase for family and friends on the last day. New songs and script for returning campers!

 

 

Fable in Five: Pinocchio

Grades 4-5, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, Aug. 5-9

One fable. Five days. Needed: 20 actors to bring this timeless story and one big wish to life. Help make the set, choose costumes, rehearse and then perform for family and friends on the last day of class.

 

 

Mythic Proportions

Grades 6-7, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, Aug. 5-9

Gods and Goddesses populate the Greek and Roman myths of ancient times and still influence popular culture today. These stories are the source material for this performance camp in which students, write, design, and act in a larger-than-life play. Build masks and costumes, design backdrops and sets, rehearse, and then perform for family and friends.

 

 

Live at the Improv!

Grades 8-12, 6:00-9:00 PM, Aug. 5-9

Wing it! Ad lib! Watch out, because ideas fly by with lightning speed. Participants have been known to bust a gut. Open to newcomers and returning students. Love Second Saturday? This class takes it to the next level! Improv showcase, complete with audience participation, on the final night!

 

 

Seriously Silly  

Kindergarten 2019-Grade 1, 1:30-3:30 PM, Aug. 12-16

We’ve been searching for the silliest books and we’ve found some great ones. The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors, The Epic Adventures of Huggie and Stick and all kinds of laugh-out-loud shenanigans. We’ll have fun acting out stories, playing theatre games and using our imaginations!

 

 

 

My Weird School

Grades 2-3, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM, August 12-16

There’s something wrong at Ella Mentry School! The teachers are brainy, embarrassing, dangerous and just plain bizarre! Miss Daisy is Crazy, Mrs. Roopy is Loopy, and Mr. Klutz is Nuts! We’ll read and act out scenes and perform our favorites for parents on the last day.

 

 

Graphically Speaking

Grades 4-5, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, Aug.12-16

Graphic novels are all the rage, and we know why: great stories, relatable characters, and awesome illustrations! We’ll use books like Smile, All’s Faire in Middle School, Dork Diaries and Diary of a Wimpy Kid (or maybe students’ choice!) to put together a scene showcase complete with our own “graphic” backdrops. There will be a presentation for parents on the final day!

 

 

Are You Smarter Than a Bully?

Grades 6-8, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, Aug.12-16

Work together and use personal experiences with bullying to write and perform the game show Are You Smarter Than a Bully?, in front of a live studio audience (i.e. your family and friends). Will there be hosts, judges, contestants? You decide!
