If Beale Street Could Talk

The Dec. 20, 2020, reading of If Beale Street Could Talk has been postponed to March 2, 2021. We look forward to sharing updated dates and titles for the Onyx Script Reading Series and hope you can join us in March.

Onyx Script Reading Series focuses on scripts that illuminate black voices. Hosted by actor/director Miriam Randolph, it will be held the first Tuesday and third Sunday of the month. Actors will read from scripts; there are no costumes or scenery pieces.

In early 1970s Harlem, teenage lovers, Tish and Fonny, and their families have to face her pregnancy and Fonny’s wrongful incarceration for rape. The film is based on the novel by James Baldwin.

Titles subject to change.
