The July 22, 2023 performance at 7:30 PM has been canceled. There will be an added performance on July 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Ticket holders will be contacted about changing their performance date.

 

Meek floral shop assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names after his coworker crush. Audrey II, a foul-mouthed, R&B-singing, carnivore succulent promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Seymour, as long as he’s getting BLOOD. Seymour soon discovers Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origin and intent toward global domination! A devious, delicious Broadway and Hollywood musical smash, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatregoers for over 30 years.

Little Shop of Horrors is directed by Ron Ziegler with Brenton Brown, music director; Megan Helmers, choreographer; David Len, set deisgner; Angela Lampe, costume designer; and Samuel Stephen, lighting designer.

The Playhouse mission, as one of Iowa's largest and oldest producing theatres, is to create extraordinary, shared experiences through live theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
