In Performance Academy, actors are taken through a more formal process. Audition, rehearse, and perform a play to learn how to polish skills in a dynamic, challenging environment. This one-act play centers on Harvey as he faces his first day at a brand new middle school. The cool kids have staked out their territory and there’s no room in their crowd for nerds or dweebs. Realistically written to reflect multiple challenges kids face at school, this comedy gets serious when the kids find themselves thrown together on the wrong side of a locked door. Enrollment guarantees a role, but all students must attend auditions at 4:15 PM, Friday, July 13.
